Lovin the Holidays

I can't believe another Christmas has come and gone! It seems like time is just flying by and all we do is run, run, run. We had a wonderful Christmas spent with family all around us. We had a minor set back, when I had to be taken to the ER on Saturday the 18th because of hemorrhaging after the long road that has been my miscarriage. Once the ER got me stable and the bleeding under control I was admitted to the hospital and a new much better OB came the next morning and discussed with Mike and I what our options were. I decided I just wanted this to be over, so I had a D&C a couple hours later. But before that could be done I needed to have 3 units of blood being that I had lost so much the night before. SoI got 2 units in me and went and had the surgery done. All went well, and about an hour later I was back in my room to recover. It was decided that I was doing well with the 2 units of blood and wouldn't need to have the third. My levels were still low and my white blood count was still high, so I had to stay another night to be monitored. Monday I was doing better, still tired and needed to be watched to see how I would react to the medications, so I just hung out. Everything went well and I was able to come home that evening.
With the help of my family we were able to get things done and be ready for Christmas! :) It was so fun to watch Lizzy and the joy on her face when she saw what Santa had brought her. She has had so much fun playing and terrorizing and being terrorized be her cousins!! :)

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and is looking forward to the New Year!!

Sad News

Ok, here it goes. I have some sad news to share, and I figure this is somewhat more private than facebook.
I started having some cramping with my pregnancy a few weeks ago, and wasn't too worried about it after looking online and talking to my brother-in-law, being that I hadn't had any bleeding. Last Thursday late afternoon and evening I started having really strong cramps. I went to bed that night, and woke up Friday morning to a small amount of bleeding. I called the doctor and they asked to go in for an ultrasound. So Mike and I went in to get an ultrasound at 11:00am. They did the ultrasound and I asked Mike how he felt about it, all he could say was "not good". I was almost 11 weeks pregnant so we could see many of the features of our baby. We waited for the tech to come and tell us what the doctor wanted us to do, she came in and told us that the doctor wanted us to come in at 2pm that afternoon. She didn't want to send us away not knowing anything so she told us that she didn't see a heartbeat. I stared off into space, it was like time stood still for a brief second. We walked into the waiting room and I completely fell apart, Mike just hugged me and told me it was going to be okay. The doctor called me and few minutes later and told me to come in right away. We went to the doctors office and she went over our options with us, gave me a couple of prescriptions for pain and we were on our way with D&C scheduled for Tuesday (today). We went about our weekend as normal as possible and then went in for the D&C today. Once we got there and I was getting prepped my doctor came and talked to me and we decided to do another ultrasound to see if I had been able to pass everything on my own. I was and ended up not having to go through with the D&C. That was probably the only blessing I could see in this whole experience.
This has been such an emotional time and a time that I have been asking a lot of "why me's?" I know that Heavenly Father has a plan in place and this was part of that. In trying to keep an eternal perspective I have had a small amount of peace in knowing that I will get to see my baby someday. For now I just have to allow myself to cry and cling to Mike and Lizzy and do the very best I can to continue moving forward. I love my Savior and I know I have felt his arms around me through this difficult time.

Halloween 2010

We had a week filled with Halloween fun, including Halloween story time, 2 Trunk-or-Treats, and of course Halloween night trick-or-treating and handing out candy!! Lizzy's favorite part might have been seeing all the other kids and giving them candy :) That was after she had gotten tons of candy of her own! I being forgetful like I am, somehow managed to forget my camera every time I got her dressed up in her costume, but Lucky for me some other's got some really cute shots of her and were willing to share, so Thank you for that :) Lizzy was Abby Cadabby from Sesame street this year, it seemed like if people didn't have toddlers of their own they weren't sure who she was, but everyone thought she sure was CUTE!!

We hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween!!

Labor Day 2010

We had a fantastic Labor Day Weekend! Saturday was spent with Mike working both cars fixing brakes and determining what else might need fixing on the pathfinder, it's so nice to have a husband that is handy with the vehicles! Then we went up to spend the evening near Estes Park where My family was camping, Lizzy had so much fun playing in the dirt and making s'mores by the fire. On Sunday we went to church and then had some friends over for dinner and to have our fantasy football draft via web cam and Facebook to include those who are out of state. (what can we say, Bronco fever as taken full effect in our home!) Then on Monday we had a slow morning and then drove down to drive up Pikes Peak, Mike and Lizzy had never been!

With that I guess summer has come to an official close, and now it's time to welcome fall!!

Happy 4th of July

I might be the worlds worst blogger, at least the most inconsistent! Here's a small recap of the events in the Longmont Bennett house, Mike is busy as ever working with his mom and dad which I must say is far better than the alternative. Lizzy is growing like a weed, learning new things everyday. She spent 5 days with my mom, dad, siblings, and Kaylie & James for Camp Waja Waja. She had a blast and did so good, that being the first time I have ever left her over night. She is now completely weaned and finally sleeps thru the night in her toddler bed, its hard to believe she will be 2 in just over a month! I try my best to keep up with her and take care of a few of my own things, I just started selling LiaSophia Jewelry to give me something to do, we'll see how it goes. If anyone is interested in hosting a Jewelry party let me now :) (hint, hint)
We are having a great Holiday weekend that started off with Dinner with some friends in Louisville, followed by a very busy Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa's ward breakfast complete with Waffles, face painting, and a bounce house!
Lizzy wanted so badly to get in the bounce house, but once she did was scared with so many bigger kids, so she settled for a star on her cheek. :)
It was wicked hot outside so we decided to go swimming at the pool, Lizzy loves the water, and had tons of fun going on the slide with her dad! We then went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a BBQ with Michael and Susan and Thaine and Marci and their family. Lizzy loved her littler cousins, Logan and Courtney. And since the bounce house at the party didn't work out Grandma decided Lizzy needed one of her own.
(sorry for the blurry picture)
She was in Heaven! :)

We went to church this morning and are then off to the festivities with my family this afternoon and evening. We'll see how Lizzy does with the fireworks tonight!
Happy 4th of July to all of our friends and family!
