Our First Outting

Wow I never thought it would be this hard to have a baby! I realized I havent't posted in two weeks, and am falling behind. I haven't had much to blog about, I guess I've had a lack of adventures. I did venture out by myself with Elizabeth on Tuesday. We went over to majas house and then we went to see Oma, she hadn't seen Elizabeth since she was in the hospital. She sure was excited to see her!

Then my mom and I took Elizabeth to see a friend from church who is in the hospital. When we got there we learned that she was quickly going down hill and had been given only a few days to live. My mom held the baby close to her and let her feel Elizabeth and told Sister Oney that Elizabeth had just come from where she was going and says "it's all good there"! It was quite emotional for me to see Elizabeth who has just come from being with Heavenly Father and still so close to him and then Sister Oney somewhat afraid to return to Him, yet still wanting to go. What an amazing plan for all of us to get to be a part of! She had been waiting to see Elizabeth, I'm so glad we went to see her.

I proved to myself that I can go and do things and don't have to sit at home and stare at each other all day - it's very boring!

Elizabeth Jaqueline Bennett

We can thank the Rockies for sending me into labor! When the Rockies score 7 or more runs Taco Bell sells four tacos for one dollar the next day, we have taken advantage of this promotion a few times this summer with the latest one being monday.

We went to my parents house to watch the olympics and hang out, at about 9 o'clock I started having hard contractions. I dedcided that I wanted to do as much as I could on my own since I knew once I went to the hospital I was stuck there. I made it three more hours and then Mike, my mom, Annette, and Hillary all went with me to hospital at Midnight. I labored until about 5:45am and was then ready to push, after about 40 minutes the doctor started talking about a c-section because the baby wasn't moving down, with the help of my mom and the nurses I was able to make enough progress that the doctor was comfortable letting me go. At 7:23am on August 12 our sweet baby girl was born wieghing in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, measuring 20 inches long!

Elizabeth has lots of proud aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course maja and faja!

*Crams has seen her too, but he has been sick!
We all love her lots, and are excited to watch her grow!!!

Our First Post

Yes, can you believe it Mike and I celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday! It has taken me the entire year and of course the help of Annette to create our blog.  We have had a fun filled eventful first year of marriage with lots of ups but of course some downs, including moving three times, me graduating from UNC with a degree in sociology, Mike setting out on new adventures career wise, and now awaiting the arrival of our first little girl any day!  I am excited to get into the blogging world, and share our adventures with our family and friends.
