Elizabeth's Blessing

We blessed Elizabeth at church on Sunday, it only took three months between General Conference and Dad being released as bishop this was the first fast Sunday that worked! Mike blessed her with his and my dad as well as Ron Scalva in the circle. I have such a softy as a husband, which isn't a bad thing, he was quite emotional after he performed the blessing. He did a wonderful job! Afterwards we had everyone over to our house for Dinner and to celebrate my birthday. I have to say overall I think it went quite well, however I am relieved to have it over with!

I am not so sure she like her dress!

Maja, Faja, and Elizabeth with her tounge out of course!

Elizabeth and Oma The Riedman Gang!
Ron and Melodie Scalva

Grandma and Grandpa Bennett The Tuckers and Bennetts Karen, Sean, and The Bennetts
Thanks everyone for coming and supporting us in this special event!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a fun filled Halloween with Truck-or-Treat on Thursday Night and then of course Trick-or-Treating on Friday Night. Our ward didn't have any Halloween festvities so we went to the Big Thompson ward's Trunk-or-Treat. The evening included a potluck dinner, games and crafts for the kids, and ended with collecting candy in the parking lot! Mike had fun decorating our trunk determined that he deserved the best trunk award, sadly there were no awards given!

Hillary, Elizabeth, and I waiting for Dinner

Logan was supposed to be Jack Sparrow, this is half of his costume!

It just wouldn't be Halloween without dad's make shift costume!

What is he?

Mike and I didn't dress up however we were in Utah a few weeks ago to visit Ryan, Annette, Kaylie, and James and went to a Halloween party. We did dress up for that!

I was a butterfly and Mike was a ninja turtle, and Elzabeth was a Denver Broncos Cheerleader!

Our evening ended with carving pumpkins at Maja and Faja's house and a very tired little girl!

We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Oops!

The words that you can't read are 9 pounds 7 1/2 ounces and 21 1/2 inches! Just minor details right?!

My Sweet Baby Girl

I can't believe how big Elizabeth is already! She had her one month doctors appointment last week. She weighed in at 9 pounds 7 1/2 ounces, and was 21 1/2 inches long. She is a perfectly healthy little girl and growing every day!

She has mastered the infamous "O" mouth, as she has become very aware of her surroundings and recognizing more and more voices. She has started trying to make more noises, and is working on talking to us! She has been working on smiling more and more, maja and faja brought her a piglet beanie baby back from Disney World that helps to get her to smile. When I touch her face with it sometimes I can get a huge smile out of her! I can't wait for her to start laughing :)

Remembering 9/11

I have to admit a spend way to much time in front of the TV these days, but what else do you do when all you do is change diapers and nurse? Today the news has been all about the events of this day seven years ago, seeing the images of the planes crashing into the twin towers again caused me to reflect on where I was and what I was doing seven years ago.

I remember that I was just getting out of seminary and turned the radio on in my car after the first plane hit and I really didn't understand what was going on. I was a junior in high school and didn't have a first hour so I got home and the TV was on, like so many others I watched the second plane hit the second tower. Again I don't think anyone thought it was real! We all watched our lives change that day, but none more than those who lost loved ones and those who would then serve to protect each one of us! I can hardly believe it has been seven years since these events occured, toady I have taken time to reflect on how blessed I am to be an AMERICAN and have so much to be happy about in life even if I might think it's hard right now, I can do it with a smile on my face! My hat goes off to the leaders of our country and those that serve to protect it, THANK YOU! We will contiune to move forward and make this world a better place.

Bath Time

Well, its taken me a month to post pictures of Elizabeth getting her first bath, I swear she has had more that one bath in the month that she's been here! :) She has been having trouble going poop for the past few weeks, but when she does go boy does she go, we're talking all over her and all over mom! So needless to say a bath has become an almost daily thing, at least every other day. I have to count my blessings as she does love the bath, I'm not sure what I would do if she hated it, since we have to do it often.

Just Chillin!

Washing the poop out of her hair!

She hates it when its over, mostly because she's cold. I've become quite fast at lotioning and dressing after the bath, if she only cries for the two minutes that takes I'd say it's been a success, with my liitle girl pretty in pink!

Isn't she adorable?!

SHOES!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that one of my fetishes is a shoe fetish! I myself have way too many shoes, far more than I ever wear. So when it was time to go shopping for Elizabeth of course I had to get her shoes, she already has five pairs of shoes, not counting the ones that don't fit her yet of Kaylies! When it was time to get dressed, Maja found shoes that actually fit her that went perfect with her outfit! They are just too cute :)

Our First Outting

Wow I never thought it would be this hard to have a baby! I realized I havent't posted in two weeks, and am falling behind. I haven't had much to blog about, I guess I've had a lack of adventures. I did venture out by myself with Elizabeth on Tuesday. We went over to majas house and then we went to see Oma, she hadn't seen Elizabeth since she was in the hospital. She sure was excited to see her!

Then my mom and I took Elizabeth to see a friend from church who is in the hospital. When we got there we learned that she was quickly going down hill and had been given only a few days to live. My mom held the baby close to her and let her feel Elizabeth and told Sister Oney that Elizabeth had just come from where she was going and says "it's all good there"! It was quite emotional for me to see Elizabeth who has just come from being with Heavenly Father and still so close to him and then Sister Oney somewhat afraid to return to Him, yet still wanting to go. What an amazing plan for all of us to get to be a part of! She had been waiting to see Elizabeth, I'm so glad we went to see her.

I proved to myself that I can go and do things and don't have to sit at home and stare at each other all day - it's very boring!

Elizabeth Jaqueline Bennett

We can thank the Rockies for sending me into labor! When the Rockies score 7 or more runs Taco Bell sells four tacos for one dollar the next day, we have taken advantage of this promotion a few times this summer with the latest one being monday.

We went to my parents house to watch the olympics and hang out, at about 9 o'clock I started having hard contractions. I dedcided that I wanted to do as much as I could on my own since I knew once I went to the hospital I was stuck there. I made it three more hours and then Mike, my mom, Annette, and Hillary all went with me to hospital at Midnight. I labored until about 5:45am and was then ready to push, after about 40 minutes the doctor started talking about a c-section because the baby wasn't moving down, with the help of my mom and the nurses I was able to make enough progress that the doctor was comfortable letting me go. At 7:23am on August 12 our sweet baby girl was born wieghing in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, measuring 20 inches long!

Elizabeth has lots of proud aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course maja and faja!

*Crams has seen her too, but he has been sick!
We all love her lots, and are excited to watch her grow!!!

Our First Post

Yes, can you believe it Mike and I celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday! It has taken me the entire year and of course the help of Annette to create our blog.  We have had a fun filled eventful first year of marriage with lots of ups but of course some downs, including moving three times, me graduating from UNC with a degree in sociology, Mike setting out on new adventures career wise, and now awaiting the arrival of our first little girl any day!  I am excited to get into the blogging world, and share our adventures with our family and friends.
